Trinity Comprehensive 

Trinity Comprehensive School in Ballymun is a mixed post-primary school that first opened in 1971 and became a single co-educational school under its current name in 2005. It is a DEIS school, committed to supporting students from all backgrounds and promoting equality of opportunity. The school provides a welcoming, inclusive environment where academic, social and personal development are encouraged, and the individuality and dignity of every student are valued.

Peer Teaching 

Aim 

To explore colour, form and pattern through sculpture to create a pop art inspired papier mache doughnut based on the theme food for thought. 

Inspired by the SDG number 2: Zero hunger. 

Learning Intentions 

  • To understand patterns and gain an understanding of pop art

  • To explore symmetry and attempt a grid pattern technique of their assigned country.

  •  To discover how to make papier-mâché paste and how to correctly apply it to the base.

  • To understand colour mixing

Learning Intentions 

  • 1.5 interpret the world and communicate ideas through visual means

  • 1.7 examine the method of a number of artists and the artwork they created 

  • 1.12 apply their understanding of the art elements and design principles to make an artwork. 

  • 3.4 interpret a design brief and represent this through their drawings
